the Jeanie Pollack story
In grade school, Jeanie Pollack was one of the tallest kids in her class, and she was always slouching because she was self-conscious about her height. As an adult, she wanted to help people feel their best, and opened one of the first boutique exercise studios in Chicago. Everyone from Chicago Bears players to a young Oprah Winfrey worked out with Jeanie.
After Jeanie’s breast cancer diagnosis, she became even hungrier for more knowledge about the mind-body connection. She earned a master’s degree in adult fitness and kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and went on to to develop ergonomic work environments for a number of companies, combating tech-neck, carpal tunnel, rounded shoulders and the slouching that she was all too familiar with.
Jeanie was inspired to create the posture genie one day during a yoga class. Her teacher wrapped a yoga strap around her to pick her trunk up off her hips, instantly improving her posture. Jeanie has designed the ultimate posture accessory to create that same spinal alignment to help women look and feel their best. After all, your posture is your presence when you walk into a room.
